Nestled in the vibrant Logan Square neighborhood at 2638 N Milwaukee Ave, Chicago, Choi's Chinese Restaurant stands out as a beloved local gem for authentic and satisfying Chinese cuisine. Whether you're craving a quick takeout or a comforting meal to savor at home, Choi's delivers consistently flavorful dishes that impress with both quality and portion size.
Choi's extensive menu showcases a delightful range of classics and chef’s specials that cater to all palates. The popular Fried Rice and Pot Stickers are perfect starters that set the tone with their perfect balance of seasoning and texture. For those who appreciate bold flavors, the Chicken and Broccoli Lunch Special offers tender chicken nestled among fresh, crunchy broccoli, all bathed in a savory sauce that’s comforting yet vibrant. Fans of wok-fired noodles will appreciate the Singapore Noodles — fragrant, subtly spiced, and packed with fresh vegetables and protein.
But there’s more than just traditional favorites here. The chef’s specials like Choi's Steak Tenderloin simmered in a spicy sauce, and the China King dish, a lavish medley of jumbo shrimp, scallops, crab meat, and a colorful vegetable mix, showcase the kitchen’s skill in blending rich and complex flavors. The Mongolian Three Delight, combining chicken, beef, and shrimp with a hot and spicy kick, is another must-try for spice lovers seeking a hearty, punchy meal.
One particularly unique facet of Choi’s is the fresh fruit offering — including pineapple, coconut, mango, and papaya — all priced reasonably at $3.25 each. These fresh fruits provide a refreshing and healthy complement to the savory dishes or a sweet finish to the meal.
The dining atmosphere at Choi’s leans towards casual and no-frills, reflecting its focus on fast, affordable, and generous food rather than fine dining pretenses. It's an ideal spot for takeout, as echoed by longtime customers like Michael Gjelsten and Melvin Jackson, who praise the fast service, consistency, and unwavering quality over many years. The portions here are generous enough to satisfy big appetites or stretch across multiple meals, as Rabbit discovered with their vegetable fried rice paired perfectly with spicy orange chicken and Mongolian beef.
David Johnson’s take on the chicken and broccoli lunch special highlights the thoughtful preparation and flavor balance, while Archie P importantly notes that, although Choi's might not be upscale, the food’s authenticity and value make it a repeat-worthy spot. The menu’s diversity paired with these strong endorsements creates confidence that whatever you order, you’ll walk away happily full and well pleased.
In essence, Choi’s Chinese Restaurant has built a reputation for delivering dependable, tasty, and affordable Chinese cuisine with a generous spirit. Whether you’re a local Logan Square resident or an adventurous visitor craving genuine flavors and hearty portions, Choi’s is a destination that rewards your palate and leaves a lasting impression — not just for the food but for the sincere, no-nonsense experience it offers.
Good, fast, cheap takeout. The General Tso’s chicken & vegetable lo mein are a great pairing and will last multiple meals
I've lived in and near logan square all my life and Chois has been my go to for over 15 years. I've never had an issue with any of my orders and the food quality is consistently great. I've recommended choi's to several friends and family.
Food tastes great and the portions are amazing for the price. Only took one chance for this to become my main spot and I recommend everyone try it out. You will not be disappointed! Vegetable fried rice with spicy orange chicken, spicy Mongolian beef, and egg rolls. Perfection!
Unironically really good Chinese food! don't expect a sit down, do take out instead. Food might not be fine dining, but it was great for the price and you get a lot. Would definitely come back again.
Chicken with broccoli lunch special. Be chicken fried rice was pretty good the chicken was broccoli headed next to the flavor and I normally don't eat egg rolls but the lunch portions are kind of small so I ate the egg roll and it was probably one of the best egg rolls I've had
Ordered takeout from here a few times now and always had consistent service and tasty food. There are a few tables, should you want to eat in, but I have yet to do so. The chicken and broccoli is just that - not overloaded with onions like some other establishments, but simple with a brown sauce that adds flavor. Potstickers come with gyoza sauce, not that red vinegar stuff. Portions are great and price is reasonable. Looking forward to exploring the menu and finding new favorites.
